Los Angeles Calculus Tutor

My Approach

I’ve been tutoring students in physics, math, chemistry, and the ACT/SAT/SSAT/ISEE/GRE for more than seven years. I tutor students from middle school through adult students. My approach to tutoring is based on the idea that you learn best when you’re comfortable. So it’s my job to make you feel comfortable.

First of all, you can be comfortable learning from me because I know what I’m talking about–I have a solid academic background in the subjects I tutor. You can check my resume yourself here.

I also believe that as a tutor, I should adapt to your learning style, not the other way around. I can explain things in more than one way, and use analogies to real-life examples. I’m very results oriented with tutoring–to me, the way of explaining things that allows you to understand is the right way.

Lastly, I try to get my students to work through problems as independently as possible, with me there to provide guidance when they get off-track or confused. By guiding my students when necessary, but making them think and work through problems on their own as much as they possibly can, my goal is to try to avoid that feeling of “I can do the problems when my tutor is here, but when I go into the test I freeze up.”

I believe that all of my students, no matter what level they are at now, can achieve academic success. Whatever your starting point is, we’ll get you to your goal in small, manageable steps.
